Hello! A little more clarification on your duplicate vs plagerism hub, please.

Please forgive my possible ignorance, but I am new to hub pages and new to publishing on the web in general. A year or so ago I published two articles in an online magazine. I copied one of them here for a hub on weight loss....copied and pasted, no changes at all...but, it is MY ORIGINAL work. Does this count as duplication? I want to post these stories on many different pages and never thought I may be flagged. Am I misunderstaning duplication? Thanks for your help and clarification.

    Hiya,
I too copy and pasted a article which i wrote myself on another site, and then used it on here but it was marked as a duplicate. In my experience if you copy and paste anything then it will be marked as a duplicate this is because so many people do copy other peoples articles and try to pass them of as their own, also Hub Pages like you to write original content that is not already on the internet.

If you write for a print publication, the editor won't be pleased to see your identical article in a rival publication, the chances are you would not write for either publication again.  Web sites are the same, regardless of whether it is your original work, it will need to be re-jigged for different sites or be flagged as duplicate.

Basically Hubpages wants 100% original content, so if your content is anywhere else on the web they wont like it even if you did write it yourself. I know its a pita, i have written a lot of articles about fire sprinklers and published them elsewhere and cannot use them here.

use copyscape.com to check for plagerism
