Using Forum Formatting Code Is Easy!

I learned BBCode first time when I got onto a forum. I didn't know what it was, but when I saw people typing all colorful and fancy posts, I simply had to learn how they did it. And so I learned this useful alternative to HMTL coding.

If you're looking for BBCodes, well, you've found a great place to get you started, as I have put a small selection of codes for your font, text, color, image, alignment, and much, much more.!

For example, in BBCode terms, you use "tags" to add formatting to your text. Every tag is enclosed in [ and ] brackets. If you want to mark some region in your text, you need to use an opening tag and a closing tag.

What Is BBCode Anyway?

BBCode or Bulletin Board Code is the typical code used in various forums and message boards. It was first created back in 1998 and it remained a very popular format until today. Initially it was used in the forum software called UBB v3.0, but then it has spread to other popular forum software, where it has been picked up with enthusiasm.

But what exactly IS BBCode? Well, this code allows you to format your text in fancy colors, font types and sizes, to add links to your post and even insert emoticons (you know that smiley face or dancing banana) and images from outside of the forum.

Below you will find some of the most popular BBCode that forumers use today to enhance their forum posts to stand out from the boring text.

You can also set the alignment of the text by using [left], [right] and [center] tags. The [float] tag can be used to place floating boxes in the text (especially nice for images). You can specify the direction of the floating with [float=left] and [float=right]. The [justify] tag can be used to justify text on both sides of the page.

Now you can click on it!
