This is my first hub
I shouldn't complain since I have only been here two weeks and have a good rating. But I want a superb hub that tells people what crisis intervention is about. I have not seen anything like my hub and my friend told me that she found it accessible and informative. But it went from being on the first page of a google search to being buried - i couldn't find it at all (i am a novice at this).
I have many questions, such as how does one get the amazon ads on the side of the text instead of at the bottom, and can you do that with pictures?
Is there enough information, and is it accessible? should I put more tags or better tags? How do I tell people in crisis what kind of help to expect - does the hub accomplish this?
What kind of pictures would be appropriate for this hub? Should I include some humor?
enough for now. any help would be appreciated.
Thats a lot of questions....
I wil answer a few and hope this helps.
The Amazon ads and photos are easy -
You need to break the text up in to smaller chunks and add them to individual capsules. That way you can float the capsule to the right and have the text on the left. This is a good hub showing how to use the capsules:
darkside has some good hubs on using hubpages.
Traffic - You will find you get a big boost when the hub is first published and good ranking with google because hubpages' authority gets any new hubs out there fairly fast. And you will see hubpages members visiting. after that, you need to spend time promoting and sharing to stay there. Some do, some don't and that is a pretty long discussion about how to do well with that I am perhaps not best qualified as I do not subscribe to the "usual" approach. I am sure some one else will chime in.
Content - I would say it needs lightening up, but then, that's me - I like to throw a lot of jokes and funny stuff in regardless of how serious the topic is. And you don't get much more serious that suicide hotlines. I would bet you have some funny anecdotes though.
Hope that helps.
i decided to play with this one since its not doing well.
now named Christmas Videos
ok, i tried the trick of changing the capsule size but only the amazon ads will go side by side. everything else defies my attempts to get it into the format. i want to put the review next to the video. i intend to make a hub reviewing christmas videos and i would like to put it in that format.

Take one of your old hubs, update it with new content, better photos, improved titles and add some additional modules (make it a stellar hub effectively) and then post it here for critique!
