In addition to the many low standard hubs we see in the hopper there are equally many hubs with potential. These hubs have substance and with a little tweaking can become high quality. For instance, I just saw a tutorial on how to install windows 7. This hub had a step by step guide with screenshots. The only problem I actually had with the hub is the quantity of content which was below 300 words. A hub like this does not deserve to be penalized and with a little nudging can become a better hub.
I am suggesting that there be a suggestion box in the hopper so hoppers can leave suggestions on how a hub can be improved.
When we flag a hub there is a comment section which is sent to the moderators and can only be viewed by them. I suggest the same thing here, where the owner of the hub gets the suggestion anonymously on how they can improve the hub in question.
Is that too hard to implement? I hope not.
This is a great suggestion Cardisa, and we have indeed discussed it at HubPages headquarters. The hitch comes down to implementation- we would have to create a new UI for that (we already have one for adding comments, believe it or not, but we'd have to create one for displaying them). We might not have the bandwidth to do that depending on what we end up prioritizing.
I'll bring this up on Thursday at our community meeting though, and we'll see what might be done!
Hi again Cardisa!
I brought this potential feature up in the community meeting today, and we came to a consensus that it would be better for us to finish and roll out a much more robust 'suggest an edit' feature (which we have already started) than to provide this one, which has relatively limited functionality.
Here's hoping we can roll out that suggest an edit feature sooner rather than later!

(1) When we flag a hub the hub should become hidden from our screen. I don't think it makes sense voting since you already flag the hub. So that means when we flag the hub another hub will replace it. I flagged a hub and didn't wish to leave feedback for it and the only option was to exit and go...

When using the new hopper we know not who we are assessing. I like that because it gives an objective read. There are times we read a hub and would like to make a few suggestions or we in return would love to receive suggestions from readers. HP knows exactly who hops and whose hubs are rated...

I really don't like the "new" hopper and have not bothered to hop hubs since it came out several months ago. In the spirit of helping to clear up the backlog, however, I gave it another shot tonight. The sliding scale ratings are too much to worry with, IMHO. I tried to thoughtfully apply...

This a hub that I have started to write about four days back.. I have written on this topic earlier and have done quiet a bit of work in this regard...but now I find that my thoughts will not flow..and I seem to be writing the same ideas over and over again..I assumed giving it time will help but...

I would really suggest to add Like/Unlike feature on comments. As we have it for Answers, we can flag an answer up or down, similar thing can be done for comments.Sometimes we really like comments posted by fellow hubbers, but posting a reply like "Good one" or "Thanks" or...

I'm fairy new to Hub Pages, but one of the things I really enjoy is reading through the Hub Hopper - you never know what topic is going to pop out at you OR how good or bad the next article will be, ha! But some of the really good ones could be even better with some good writer-to-writer feedback....
