Notes or Suggestions for Hopper

In addition to the many low standard hubs we see in the hopper there are equally many hubs with potential. These hubs have substance and with a little tweaking can become high quality. For instance, I just saw a tutorial on how to install windows 7. This hub had a step by step guide with screenshots. The only problem I actually had with the hub is the quantity of content which was below 300 words. A hub like this does not deserve to be penalized and with a little nudging can become a better hub.

I am suggesting that there be a suggestion box in the hopper so hoppers can leave suggestions on how a hub can be improved.

When we flag a hub there is a comment section which is sent to the moderators and can only be viewed by them. I suggest the same thing here, where the owner of the hub gets the suggestion anonymously on how they can improve the hub in question.

Is that too hard to implement? I hope not.

This is a great suggestion Cardisa, and we have indeed discussed it at HubPages headquarters. The hitch comes down to implementation- we would have to create a new UI for that (we already have one for adding comments, believe it or not, but we'd have to create one for displaying them). We might not have the bandwidth to do that depending on what we end up prioritizing.

I'll bring this up on Thursday at our community meeting though, and we'll see what might be done! big_smile

          Hi again Cardisa!
I brought this potential feature up in the community meeting today, and we came to a consensus that it would be better for us to finish and roll out a much more robust 'suggest an edit' feature (which we have already started) than to provide this one, which has relatively limited functionality.
Here's hoping we can roll out that suggest an edit feature sooner rather than later!

What's the suggest and edit feature supposed to be exactly? Any reference?

Thanks Simone. I guess when it's rolled out we'll learn more about it. It sounds similar to what I suggested.
