I just want to clarify whether the HP Amazon account can only be used for HP's? if a person has an external website - will they need to open a separate account with Amazon?
You only need one Amazon account, that you can use on all of your websites. But if you use HubPages' Amazon account to get the higher commission rate, then you need to get your own for your other websites.

I've always wondered why some Hubbers have more than one account. Is this a good thing or not? The only thing I can think of is that after a person writes many Hubs, it becomes a chore to take care of that one account.
