I just got my article transferred last night and today I spent 4 hours editing one of my less often read ones to get used to how to work here in HubPages. I did everything I was instructed to and it said it was published when I clicked the Done Editing Button. Then  it said I had to click un publish first to republish the revised Hub. An hour later I went to look at it and it is completely empty and there is a threat that it will be something or other because there is no content.   HELP! I   It  is really upsetting to have this happen on my very first try. Now I afraid to do anything with the more important ones that need some pictures added that did not transfer.

      Hi Judy.

You can find all of your Hubs here.
      http://hubpages.com/my/hubs/stats

The system saves periodically while you are in the HubTool, but if your computer loses connection then this cannot be done.  In cases of lost connectivity, no unsaved changes will be avaliable.

For this reason, if you  are having network connectivity issues, you may want to edit text content locally using a program like Notepad++ in order to make sure you have a saved local copy.

I've looked in MY/Hub/Stats to check to see that the changes went through and instead there is nothing there other than the title. There was no loss of connectivity and it was appearing fine until an hour after I re published and now there is nothing. I can't believe I spent 4 hours on this to make it meet your standards and now it is totally gone. When I was editing it, I had no previews coming up for the Amazon modules and when it previewed before publishing they didn't show, but my understanding is that  the "Finished Editing" button just holds the space for the ad until it is published.

Now there is Nothing and this is not a good way to be introduced to HubPages after the weeks of frustration not knowing what was going to happen with all my work. I have the XML from Squidoo that I could republish it under as a new Hub with another 4 hours of work because I made significant changes. But, am I then risking duplication because my Hub is buried someplace other than in my account.

Definitely disappointed in this development. I was encouraged but now I'm really down.

I've been so upset, I don't think I ever gave you the link to the Hub.

Hi Judy! It looks like you have two Hubs on Gluten-Free Cookbooks, one that was imported from Squidoo, and one that you created for the first time here on HubPages.

            Imported from Squidoo: http://judyfilarecki.hubpages.com/hub/r … ookbooks-2
Created on HubPages: http://judyfilarecki.hubpages.com/hub/r … -cookbooks

The Hub you linked is the one that you created here, and that is the Hub that's empty. Is it possible that you meant to look at the Squidoo Hub and accidentally opened the new one to find it empty?

I don't know how I came up with a second one. I did just find the one you found, #2, at the top of my list. How do I get rid of the empty one? Also, how do I get the Amazon ads to show on the edited one. Also it does not show that I changed the food category to restricted diet, gluten free recipes. That did show at changed either.
Does it automatically publish when I say Done Editing. I kept getting a unpublish button rather than a publish button. I've tried to look at the tutorials, but there is so much to absorb that I must be missing that.

You can delete a Hub by clicking on the delete button in the black box at the top of the page. This button is only visible on the live Hub and not in the HubTool.

Regarding Amazon products, I see them on the imported Hub: http://judyfilarecki.hubpages.com/hub/r … ookbooks-2

      Are there some products missing?

Breadcrumbs on Hubs that live on subdomains (such as this one) will only show the top level category. We changed the breadcrumb structure on HubPages in September 2013 and you can read more about it in the official blog post.

Yes, the Hub is automatically published when you click the Done Editing button. Please keep in mind, however, that newly published and edited Hubs will be in pending mode until they are reviewed for quality. Hubs are reviewed within 24 hours (usually just 2-3) but they remain published during this time.

OK so I don't do anything more once I hit Done Editing. I just wait for the review. I can delete the duplicate empty Hub easily with the delete button.

Breadcrumbs...it is a good thing you gave me a link to the blog. I had no idea what you were talking about. Is there a glossary of terms all in one place so I can learn all these terms specific to HP? It sure would make it easier. I'm not fully understanding the term. I assume that filtering them down to more specific areas such as "gluten recipes" helps the search engines and also helps you to put better links on the bottom. They just don't show on the top of page?

None of the  Amazon links are showing when I look, only the test module I used to introduce each link. Hopefully tomorrow they will show up for me to see. I couldn't even get them to preview when I was in the edit mode of Amazon.

Thanks for your help. It is getting late and I'm getting brain dead. My be tomorrow  things will go more smoothly.

    Hi Judy,
If you're not seeing your Amazon capsules, it could be that you have an Ad Blocker on the browser that you're using.

I use both Chrome and Firefox -- I have Adblock Plus installed on Chrome, but not on Firefox.  The hubs look very different depending on which browser I use -- I don't see any ads, including the Hubpage Amazon capsules, when I view them with Chrome.

I always work on Firefox and have never had the problem before. Lat night I switched to IE and they were perfect there. I checked Firefox again this morning and they still don't show there. I'm going to try cleaning out my cache and see if that makes the difference. I don't believe I have any ad blockers on. At least I know now that they are saving correctly. Thanks for your  input.

It will be interesting to see if clearing your cache on Firefox works.  Or you could search online for how to check if you have Adblock, or how to disable it if you do.   On Chrome I have the AdBlock Plus icon at the top right of the page (ABP in a "stop sign" shape), and I can specify if I want certain websites "white-listed".    I don't know where the icon would show up on Firefox.

Thanks, I'll check it out when I have some time. Right now I'm just  going to do my editing on IE. Lots to do.  Judy

Yes, there's a lot to do now isn't there :-)    I just started going through a few of my transferred lenses-now-hubs.

I'm glad you can see your pages as they're supposed to be,  on IE.

I actually like being able to view the hubs on both browsers, since I can see how they look with and without the ads.  Some of my text doesn't make as much sense on the browser that has Adblock, if I've referenced the products in the Amazon capsules, so I'm editing that as needed.

Sorry for your problem. Yesterday was my first day and it took some trials and tribulations to get through, but today is better. None of my pictures came through if the were put in through html coding I did or if they were linked to a specific URL. I ended up putting them in through the image module that HB has and that worked. One thing I discovered was that the very  first image wasn't showing either. I noticed there was a line through the work image at the top of image file place. I opened edit and found that the "Do not show image" box was checked. I unchecked it and the picture appeared.

Good luck today. I hope you get response quickly and a solution. The staff here has been very prompt in their answers and very helpful.

If the images were referenced in the html, the images were imported, but hidden.

To display the images, edit the hubs and unhide the image capsule.

Where do we report bugs? I edit a lens and by the time I get to the top to look it over all my changes have reverted back to how the hub looked before I edited it. So after I re edit again I hope it saves. Annoying and a bit of a waste of time.

You can report new bugs by starting a thread in this forum. If the bug has already been reported, please add your example to the relevant thread. Can you create a new thread and add some more details? For instance, which Hub did you notice this on?

Edited 3 hubs so far and had it happen on every one. Guess that covers that.
