Hi Hubbers,
I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my Hub Atheism in Spiritual India. What can I do to improve? Thanks!
Hello, Maqbool
The first thing I see is the lack of imagery. When writing a hub, you always want to add an image at the very top of your article (one that depicts the general topic). A wonderful place to use free, high-quality commercial use images is pixabay https://pixabay.com/.
Second, while the hub is well-written, there are certain grammatical errors and missing words in many of your sentences. You might consider using a program like Grammarly to help you clean up your work, https://grammarly.com.
Other than that, I think you're on the right path. It's a fascinating topic, and your writing style is well-developed.
I hope that helps
My own articles are featured hubs; you might want to swing by and check out a couple of them to see what I mean in regards to imagery.
Thank you for your suggestion. I will do it...
You're Very Welcome and Welcome to Hubpages!
You'll also see that I usually add an image in each capsule section (an image that is associated with that particular topic being discussed). People like media rich articles and media plays a big part in whether or not your hub will be featured.
One more thing, this below is a hub from the hubpages staff, on how to write a stellar hub Well worth the read
https://hubpageshelp.com/content/Learni … tellar-Hub
Thank you very much for your help. I have made changes as suggested. Would you please have a look?
You're Welcome I can tomorrow. I just came on here for a second.
Hi Maqbool
I went to go re-read your hub for you and it wasn't there
Here it is; http://hubpages.com/education/Atheism-i … tual-India
Thanks
You might want to check your link, there's nothing there
Have a look please, published it again.
thanks
As your hub focuses on Charvaka, shouldn't that be in the title?
It's an interesting article but your writing could do with tightening up a little. For example:
"This movement was survived for seven centuries. However, no original text of Charvaka is preserved, though the idea of its popularity and thoughts comes as a result of its criticisms mentioned, in the literature of other religious texts, such as Jainism, Buddhism, and Hinduism"
"This movement survived for seven centuries, but no original Charvaka writings exist. Its popularity at the time is demonstrated by the number of critical references in several religious texts." Or something like that. Use fewer words wherever possible.
You should be careful of unwitting plagiarism - it's really difficult to avoid repeating text that appears on other websites when quoting names, facts and figures, so focus on your topic rather than on the history or prevalence of religions. As you are talking about atheism, there is no need to give facts and figures about religions other than a fleeting sentence or two. Personally, I'd replace the introductory paragraph with a proper introduction to Charvaka.
I'd also move the image further down the page a little. I'd also suggest a better image - that one adds nothing of value to your article.
Hope that helps a little. It's an interesting article and deserves to be approved.
Good luck.
Thank you very much for your important suggestions. Indeed worth to know.
