I was on one of my articles and just happened to notice that a guest user had made a comment. However, I did not receive any notifications about the comment that had been made 13 hours earlier. Is there some other place that I would be able to see this, had I not noticed it on my own, as it was marked as possible spam, I believe?
I don't get notifications either, Tom. They just stopped for some reason.
I always arrive at HubPages on my Account stats page, so from there I click on the Comments tab, and then the Earnings. It's a little routine I got into, so I don't miss any. You have to select the option if you want to see the spam comments.
I have missed several comment in a similar manner. If you go to "Feed" you will see any comments that have not yet been approved. However, if you don't check often enough, the HP team will approve your comments, and they will disappear from there.
Go to your Notifications page and check how you have it set up.

I noticed the past few days that any notifications of comments don't appear in the notifications list until I approve the comment. (I am seeing the comments as they show up next to the Hubs link on the homepage, so that is not an issue.) Newer notifications showed up before the comment did....

It would be great if we received notification of new comments. I was reviewing my hubs today and found comments that I didn't know were there. This notification could be on the account page or, better yet, by email.

Before reporting a problem I wanted to know if anyone else is having trouble with the comment notification. I usually receive an e-mail when I get a comment. I never changed my e-mail settings but for the past 24 hours I've received comments & not a single e-mail. I just checked my settings and...

I am still unsure of the etiquette/protocol regarding whether or not to respond to comments made on articles that I have written. On the one hand it seems rude not to acknowledge comments but, on the other hand, if there is nothing to write other than a thank you note it seems pointless. I think it...

If I view my account's Comments page, it's easy to view, approve and respond to unapproved comments. However, if I go to a new comment in one of my hubs and click Approve, I cannot reply to it directly on the comment. Instead, I have to go to my main Comments page and find the now approved comment...
