I just wondered what would be best when you illustrate your text with photos. Should the photo be placed before or after the text.
It all depends on the way you refer to the illustration in your text.
You might want to consider the following:
1. How does the illustration make sense to the reader? Does it stand by itself or does it require some discussion before the reader sees it.
2. Will it keep the reader focused?
3, Would it be better to say something in reference to the subject of the illustration before showing it? Or will it engage the reader and cause them to want to continue.
These points should help you decide where to place the illustration.
