How do I know I am writing things people like?

No, they don’t want crazy staff all the time…. Basically every person have unique taste and needs, so they tend to follow their own taste. Just write what is you think better for others in term of learning….
If you type in google "keyword tool", the first result will be google's keyword tool. You can use that to look at what people are searching for and how many searches are made per month for particular keywords or keyphrases, in different countries.
You can also check out google insights to find out about rising searches and google trends to look at trend patterns.
Those 3 tools will help you find out if you're writing what people are searching for.
