We all do. Copyright is automatic and has been for many years now. You have to specifically say that it is NOT copyrighted - or more accurately, that you are freely granting the right to copy to anyone who wants it.
Artistic creations (images, writing, etc) are protected by copyright laws whether you file with your countries copyright office or not. You might want to read up on how copyright works and what it means, as it's clear you don't fully understand it.

I'm planning a hub about one particular actor in one particular scene of a movie. Without a visual representation of the actor in the scene the article would be meaningless, but no free or non-copyrighted photos appear...
