I usually pick the 3rd layout (which is: 1st row text, 2nd row text and photo, then comments on the bottom row). (Note: The first text capsule needs to have enough text in it in order for the Ad block to be on the top right). That layout allows more room for ads to appear at the top of the page. Of course, the more ads you have, the more chances for clicks.
Many people put a photo at the very beginning or too close to the top of the page. Pictures should be further down the page to allow room for more ads.
Also, breaking up the text, by using separate text capsules allow ads to be inserted between text capsules.

I have noticed a sharp decline in page eCPM in previous week. I am afraid if it is the result of wide format ads displayed on top of the page (above the hub title). I'll appreciate comments from other hubbers.Prem
