How do you get images for your hub when you have no way of knowing who the copyright holder is?

Many hubs here use unattributed images, some from sites that sell the items in question, others from god-know-where. Often it is impossible to find out whom the image belongs to, so you can't ask for permission to use. And often, public domain images are not what you need.
How do you deal with this?

Try to find a public domain picture.  Try sites like http://www.publicdomainpictures.net

Or use a site like picnic to edit the photo.

Use your camera phone to take a picture and then edit to what you need.

With research, editing and a camera phone, you can make most things happen.

If its a special hub where you really need a high quality picture, then go to one of the stock sites that sell you non-exclusive rights for eight bucks.  But make sure you see if the rights are print or digital, limited or unlimited.

I recommend purchasing a digital camera of your own as I did.  Take photos involving different themes as I have done.  Then upload your photos to your Hubpage, as I did.  You can see the photos I took of jungle rainforest tribal masks, here, at   http://hubpages.com/hub/Free-Public-Dom … hotographs

You are welcome to use any of my photos on that webpage.  They are free and now in the public domain.
