is there anything i can do in writing that can make me good money ? anything ?
Dear hearttalker,
This is an interesting question, and there is no easy answer. You can write a best selling novel, playwright or screenplay.
You can get in line with the rest of us, read the Hubs by Hubbers who had to learn everything the hard way. Read Hubs on making money writing. There are hundreds of them.
If there were one easy way, it would not come as easily as an Answer on a HP Question, if it did, it wouldn't last long.:0) Good Luck.
I know a lot of people who are making $1000+ monthly at this site and/or at Squidoo. Is that not enough for you? Making money online with writing requires good grammar and punctuation skills and a bit of marketing savvy. It usually isn't an immediate source of money, but with perseverance and patience it adds up well for most of us. You'll make more money writing hubs about your favorite products than about your philosophy of life. I do a mixture of both...
We don't know much about you but I looked at your hubs. I get the impression you aren't really prepared to put in the effort to achieve success. They are very short. Like you just dashed something off. Just saying.
Anyone who is successful usually has worked very hard to get there. They devote every waking moment to their work.
So, if you think you can dash off a best seller then that's not likely. Maybe you could get lucky, but that's as likely as winning the lottery.
To become a good writer you need to write... lots. All the time. Every day if you can. You have to devote yourself to it.
And learn grammar which is hard once you are out of school.
Read stuff you are attracted to for ideas.
If you write well, from your heart, and about human trials and tribulations you can often strike a chord. But you need to learn the basics of telling a good story and ways to do it. If you aren't taking literature or journalism in school, just read good articles and try to note what makes the story exciting and what grabs you.
People like to see someone go through hardship and triumph over adversity. Sometimes this is called the "hero's journey". It's a technique in putting together a story.
Person has a revelation, goes through many challenges and setbacks and ultimately wins the girl and the gold. It's a formula but it's been used over and over and over. And it works. But you have to write lots. And do research before you write if it's not from your own knowledge and experience.
I've got it easy. I'm old, I've done tons of exciting things in my life. I'm knowledgeable in science and technology. I've got lots I could write about. And I discovered at a young age I had a talent for writing I didn't know I had. Who knew? It took an English teacher to point it out to me. And I didn't even like the teacher but I learned I can write.
That happened when we were asked to write about 3 inventions we would like to see. I took it all frivolously. I just wrote some stupid ideas.
The next day the teacher announced that all the essays were horrible... except one. Then proceeded to read it out loud. It was mine. I was really embarrassed but everyone loved the story and it got a lot of laughs. The inventions were all really silly and ridiculous. That gave me a lot of confidence about my ability to write. I learned to go wild with my imagination, to write the way I think and talk. It works for me. I've never tried to be a writer until the last few years and I'm not worried about winning the Pulitzer prize. Just trying to amuse and educate anyone who wants to read what I write.
I agree with Butch News here: you need to put in a lot more effort before you'll start making money. Your hubs are definitely too short to be valuable to other people. Even experienced people need more words than that to make a point clear. And you'll need to learn more about other things that contribute to making money, like SEO and page optimization.

If making money wasn't an option on HubPages, would you still write for this site...No matter if you make pennies a day or dollars. This question isn't about how much money a hubber makes. I'm just curious how many hubbers would still hub if they weren't earning money for the pub or to get some...

I have just started, so I dont expect it in the near future, but how many hubs, or how many months before you start making money? How much traffic is considered to be good traffic? Right now I am getting about an average of 75 hits per day on 4 hubs. Is that good? What...

I made two hubs and both were rejected -I can understand that. What I do want to know is if the site can make money for me, and if so, how can I do it?
