I just accidentally clicked on an ad in my own hub! Will Google Adsense ban me for one click?!
I'm a little bit freaked out right now. I accidentally clicked on an adsense link in my own hub. Would Google ban me for that one mistake? Have other Hubbers done this by accident and their accounts been ok afterward?
It happens, Google knows it happens and they do not penalise you for one click.
However if you make a habit of it they may have a hissy fit

Once is no big deal. I did the same thing a couple of years ago, freaked out, wrote them a note apologizing, and they wrote back saying just don't do it again.
I agree with Sparhawke. Once is not punishable by the firing squad but make a habit of it and the Google Police will be looking for you. As Sparhawke has given you the link , go read the Google help and you will be reassured!
Thank you all for your answers. I feel a lot better. And thank you, Sparhawke, for that link. That REALLY made me feel better
Google will not ban you for only 1 click but they're watching you day & night so if you click any other of your ad, they can ban you anytime. Read Google Adsense TOS for any further query. Hope this help!
Not to worry, just don't click on it again, you should be okay. However 2-3 clicks will definitely put you on the red zone and you could get banned. You've got nothing to worry about
I don't think Google will ban you for this. They constantly monitor the click behavior of each and every account and closely monitor the CTR. If CTR is very high then eventually they will ban such accounts.
CTR must be maintained around 1.00 or less. Lesser the CTR better for the health of your Adsense account however, lesser CTR means low earnings. You have to optimize your ad placements to improve earnings if CTR is extremely low.
You know it is so easy to click on your own advert. For a start most us publishers and hubbers are consumers as well. You see an advert served by Google flash up and it is something you want to know more about so you click it. Then you say hell I just clicked on my own advert. It's so easy to do. BUT.....I think Google and and hubpages should redesign the adverts so that someone who is a Google or hubpages publisher can not click their own adverts because the software could be redesigned so that if a hubber or a Google adsense publisher does click on their own advert by mistake then the ad just fails to open and an icon tells you that the advert will not open for you because it would a breach of rules if hubpages or Google allowed you to open the advert. And also if you still want to know more about the advert you can take a closer look by going to the product by URL. Would that work?

I recently published a Hub last night and while reading it again this morning, I accidentally clicked on a banner ad that was at the bottom of it. I know that Adsense frowns upon clicking on your own ads, and this is honestly the first time that I've ever done that. I'm so worried that they'll...

It happened while I checked out the backlink I just made on Snipsly. I clicked back before the page could even load, as it was obviously an accident. But I just checked my adsense account and I have 1 cent more than before. Since I hardly ever earn anything, not even 1 cent per day, this is...

What would I do? I accidentally clicked one of the ads when I was editing something. I did not clicked in intentionally.

At least three times in the last couple of days, I have accidentally clicked on my own ad a the top of my pages. I'll be looking at a published page, and then trying to navigate back to my account by clicking on the link on the top right - where you see your username with a drop down - for which...

I just clicked one of my own ads by accident. Has anyone ever done this? Do you know if I will get an instant ban or is there a degree of tolerance to this? Surely it happens occasionally to many people. Am a bit worried about it. Thanks.
