Once you have published your hub then there's no option to do that but in the first step when you select the title of the hub there is a option ''Give Your Hub a Unique Web Address'' you can put a custom shortened url there
There is an option to get a shorter URL link by doing the following:
Log in to your account> Go to the Hub that you want the shorter URL > Click on the "Stats" Button > When the Stats open click on the "Hub Metrics" Button > When the Hub Metrics page opens you will see the "Short URL" for that particular Hub.
Copy and paste to your hearts content:) Cheers :-)
The tip you've given better than doing the whole hub all over again.
I almost always remember to fix the short url-link when I'm creating the hubs. But on a couple of hubs I must have been rushing, and missed the option to shorten the url.
Thanks again Agvulpes, I will try the tip you've given.

I have just noticed today that many of my hubs where I reference other author's hubs and included a link to their profile, the URL has been shortened to just "hubpages.com" - thereby removing the actual link to the author. I have no idea how long this has been happening, but I am going...
