Is it OK to click on ad on hubs other than my own?

I know I'm not supposed to click on ads on my own hubs, but can I click an ad on someone else's hub? I've seen some conflicting opinions on this. Sometimes I see some pretty tempting ads.

It has been suggested that clicking on other hubbers ads has negative results for the entire HubPages site. Google could easily interpret this as fraud. It would jeopardize your account, the authors ad you clicked, and the HP community in all. Personally, I would NOT recommend this practice, even when those ads are really tempting! And I agree with you, some ads are very tempting!
    Happy Hubbing!

This is what the owner of Hubpages said 10 months ago: I haven't heard anything to suggest that has changed.

"We've thought a bit about this and we do reduce the number of ads for logged in people.

Clicking on other people's ads is a big no,no and will likely result in getting banned from AdSense and HubPages."

If you are using Affiliate Trackers then there is a chance that YOUR Google affiliate code can be in another person's Hub at the time you are looking at it. This is why Hubbers should never click ads at all. Because you might just be clicking your own ads without realizing it.

If you don't know what Affiliate Trackers are then go to Account -> Earnings -> Affiliate Trackers. Then click the green help button near the top right of that page.

I'm glad I read the answers given here to your question as I would have thought it was okay to click on ads on other hubs than your own. Now I know better. Thanks for asking the question.

I have heard of people losing their account because of it. I agree entirely with what K9keystrokes said. If I see an ad I am interested in I write down the info then search Google.
