Why is it against the ToS to discuss earnings?
Hubpages itself talks about their top earners when you sign up. Why then, is it against ToS to discuss our own earnings?
Because HubPages owns the website and they get to make the rules.
well yeah, they are definitely the bosses. I just thought there was possibly a more significant reason behind it. lol
Most employers will tell you not to discuss earnings. I think part of the problem is that the focus becomes on the money. Instead of teamwork and cooperation, we become jealous, and cutthroat.
When we find out that someone who we think is equal to us earns more money than we do, we get upset. We don't always see the work they have done to earn the greater amount. Maybe they got lucky with a hub topic, but when we focus on our own earnings, we are more likely to do better.
Plus, if you are making pennies, and find someone who is making thousands, even though they have millions of hubs and years of experience into it, we might get disillusioned that we aren't getting to the thousands faster.
I can't prove this but I suspect that they do not want earnings discussed because it would make it easier to know the algorithm they use in determining pay.

I was wondering if people can live on their earnings from Adsense...or is it mostly a hobby based earning?

Possibly I overlooked the answer to this question in the forums, but I have noticed over the past three weeks at least, a significant drop of at least half of my traffic views during this period. And of course a significant drop in my earnings. Are other writers in the community...

I have yet to see a thread that has shared the successes of the hub challenge.Has anyone seen significant income increases in adsense? Was it worth it? Would you do it again?

I just noticed that some author's earnings are displayed on the homepage when logged out. Is this a recent idea and is the display of earnings optional? (not that it bothers me if there is no choice in the matter)

Did anyone else notice a significant drop of HP earnings in July? While I will never make a living writing on Hubpages, I noticed last month that my earnings from the HP ad program took a significant hit, and I ended up with less than half of the earnings I usually would have made towards the second...

I've been a HP member for five years now and have seen steady, but modestly increasing traffic and earnings until recently. My earnings are now close to what I was seeing three or four years ago. I thought maybe it was a just a blip that I could wait out, but it has continued for months, probably...
