The Truth About Alter Egos

Every avatar in these forums is an alter ago ... a shade of the person we are in real life.

For some, that alter ego might be a carbon copy of who we really are. For others, it might be representative of who we would really like to be. And yet, for others, its a manifestation of what we feel we have been forced to become.

Whether we go by one identity, or many, not one of us is actually us, as they all are representative of a facet of our whole being and can never replace the true essence. As such, not one of the identities can be taken to be the total truth of anyone here.

Is that a bad thing? Nope. It just means we interact with people who might not be quite the same in real life. A good example would be the person who is real chatty here, but doesn't mutter many words in real life.

So, I present you, the hubber, with an idealistic opportunity ... a game if you will. This is a game of truths, where one may play or chose to ignore ... but those who do chose to play will learn much of themselves.

Here's how the game is played ...

Before you, on these forums, is many identities. One or more may be yours, and you will be asked to forget they exist, for they have been removed as object pieces from the game.

Now, focusing on the remaining identities, tell us which identity you would want to represent you in real life and why ... assume that you will become the persona that you have seen here and will totally emulate that identity in every way in the real world.

The second part of the game is a bit more involving ... but perhaps as much fun. Pick an identity you know to be male and pick an identity you know to be female and give us your percentage chance of them establishing a relationship in real life, given that they exist in the real world as they do here.

As you may have noticed, I did not say you needed to pick idealistic couples, so we can have some fun with this one. All I ask is that we keep it on the fun side and that those who read the thread understand any match to be ... the spirit of the game.

So ... would Badco and Koma be a good match? What about Darkside and Brenda Scully? Use your imagination, and be tactful with your reasoning, as this is about playing a game ... and not attacking others.

    So, who will be first?

"which identity you would want to represent you in real life and why ..."

Paul Deeds! Coz he will be a gadzillionaire when HubPages gets sold or goes public big_smile

    "Hot HubPages couple?"
Misha and Knowles of course! There are already many sonnets written to honor them, including some lovely pictures.

Btw - why should the couple be male and female? tongue

They don't have to be male and female ... I just feared it might get weird stuff started on the forums if I didn't add that ... as most of us consider a couple to be ... well ... a man and a woman.

But we can also look at other couples who are not male and female ... such as Felix Unger and Oscar Madison (The Odd Couple), Tango and Cash, Chico and the Man, The Fonz and Rickie Cuningham ... so no, it doesn't have to be male and female. smile

    Great Game Yoshi,

I would be rmcrayne as she seems strong, smart and someone who would be good friend.

A cool couple would be Jewels and Tantrum.  Characters and both could strike at any moment.

    Hope I did this right.
