as a hubling of two weeks I gingerly offer my advice to any newcomers. For anyone interested in the machinations and earnings I'm afraid I can be of no help - I still don't have a clue.
But what I can say is if you're toying with the idea of letting it all go - don't. Yesterday, a whole world away, I was on the verge of it. And pushed by desperation I faced up to my cyber shyness and put out a message on the forum.
That's what was missing.
Just a few voices out there in cyber space were enough. I'm not writing for my computer alone anymore and I can hear, albeit far off,the bustle of the community. I don't want to sound like a Disney goody but for me getting my first fans was better than anything I could earn. A cheque can't bring you that contact. (But of course it helps with the rent).
So my advice is tentatively put forward - dive into cyber space, the space dusts not that cold.
Welcome to Hubpages.
I'm new too, but been busy in both forum and creating hubs.
I've signed up to be your fan.
Welcome! Dive into the forums. Contribute and ask questions, it is the only way you're going to learn.
