Concern about potential duplicate content?
Someone contacted me requesting to post a part (a little in their words) of one of my hubs with a link to the rest on a site/blog of theirs.I'm concerned that allowing this could lead to difficulty relating to duplicate content issues subsequently existing and that this could have a negative impact.Any clarification or advice appreciated.
Bottom line is, they will do it if they really want to. HubPages will not penalize you in cases such as this.
I depends how much they want to reprint. If you can limit it to about 100 words it should be okay.

Hypothetically, suppose I made a longish comment on a Facebook post, and subsequently decided it would behold material for a GO article. Would I then end up getting dinged on the "duplicate content" trap?(Considering it would amount only to about a paragraph of the entire final article.)
