There are templates for your hub how you page will look like. Depending upend the layout of the hub you choose, the ads are placed. There is no any option where to display your ad on hub. But you can see the preview while editing where the ads will be displayed.

There is a setting on each hub that if you want to show the ads on your hub or not.
    Commercial hubs shows the ads.

Depending upon your preferences, these ad settings can be modified.

If you want to monetize your hub, then it should be for commercial purposes. Mark that setting.

Moreover, the level or density of ads can also be edited by you. Low, Medium or High level of ads can be shown in your hub, as per selected.

However, one thing that you do not have control on is the placement of ads. You 'technically' can alter the placement by placing photos, videos, etc.

I hope I have made it clear.

Since Google Adsense suddenly cut me off and kept what I had earned, I no longer allow ads. Why let them make money off my work?

      I agree!
But why did they cut you off?
