One of my blogs has been hit with spam comments 2-3 times a week, why?
One of my music playlist hubs is being hit with spam comments 2-3 times a week for the past couple of weeks. Do you have any idea why or how I can get it to stop? What makes this hub vulnerable over my other hubs?
why not? spam can be aimed at quality writing where it is most likely to be read. I set my comments to be moderated so I just delete span as it appears and before it is published.....
Don't even ask why this sort of thing happens. Go to your account and moderate your comments so that you are not open to SPAM. A kind Hubber suggested this to me, and I have not received any SPAM since then. I have 230 Hubs so far, and when those Spammers went nuts with everyone, I was receiving as many as 33 emails per hour, selling everything from designer Nikes to Coach handbags. But once I changed my settings, I haven't been bothered with this crap.

I started getting a few spammy comments a few days ago. I posted a thread and someone suggested changing my comment settings to allowing only signed in users being allowed to comment and approval before they were published. So I changed my settings. Today the spam was even worse, took me a half...

I've never had this happen much before: readers (not fellow hubbers) are leaving strange comments that have nothing to do with the hub topic. They're not leaving links, so how are the comments a benefit to the commenters? Strange!
