Hi,
I want to ask members of the hubpages arts/crafts forum which of five of my art images they like the best. Artists are always interested in who likes what best, in order to know what works. An arts forum is a good place to get such opinions or feedback.
But to do this, I have to link to one or to several of my hubs on art, which seems to be a violation of hubpages protocol.
I really want to know preferences, and I also realize that linking is self promotion.
When YOU are the product, it's hard not to prmote yourself anytime you talk about or refer to what you do. Society seems to have a suspicious bias about the first person endeavor. I suspect that this needs to change, because valid, worthwhile pursuits happen in the name of one's own signature.
Robert
I think you might get away with it if you only posted the title of the hub or hubs in question, but not an actual link, which would probably be snipped. People could then go and track down the article on your profile page very easily.
Just another idea, but there is a way you can post pictures under your forum posts too, but I can never quite remember how you do it.
You can ask for opinions and put links in the Extreme Hub Makeover thread. That's what it is for.

I seldom use the forum because I frequently get treated with a condescending attitude or bashed no matter what I ask or say. For instance, the last time I used the forum, a long-time user decided to argue against my desire for hubscores to reflect the eligibility of hubs for the network sites by...

While I'm being a policeman, I can't help noticing that there's a lot of self-promotion that goes on in the forums. Especially the "other topics" forums, where quite often you'll find posts with not much more than the link to the person's Hub.Surely the forums are places to discuss...

In reading many forums, I've seen where people have posted in forums to promote their hubs. At first I thought, wow that's rude, but now I think I have a different view.I think we all want our hubs to be read so promotion rather through a social network, around the hub-pages community, or wherever...

I suppose with just a few keywords and a search friendly title. The image that pops in my head is of a store in an obscure spot that no one ever hears about. Word has to get out somehow. But can you do that without ever posting a link anywhere? Is it possible it can just get crawled and indexed,...

There are some posters here in the forums that post daily and still have no hubs written. Their profiles have their own websites and businesses listed so they are using this simply for self promotion .I know many of us are here for promotion but we have hubs on HP.These daily posters are using HP...

I would quite like one, but why should I contact the hubpages team if they cannot give me the courtesy of letting me know why.94 hubs in less than 3 months, and for what? To get banned for losing my rag with religious nuts after one told me to kill myself?I'm going to work on my blog and take all...
