Hub groups are a way to organize your hubs. For example, if you have a lot of recipe hubs you can group them by type: desserts, appetizers, sides, etc... and people can navigate easily between them. You can group article hubs as well, like sports: baseball, football, etc...

It is a way to keep your similar hubs together so that others can see the different hubs you have on similar topics. It helps generate traffic and views.

I would say that effectiveness depends on the amount of hubs in a hubgroup. If you only have 2 hubs on a particular topic it isn't quite necessary. But, if you have say 5-10 or more it is a great way to organize to reach many.

not a problem, I had the same question when I started and decided the same thing. I don't have a lot of hubs yet, but they're all organized so that as I add hubs I can place them in their proper groups. smile
