When someone follows you on HubPages, do you usually follow them back?
On HubPages, what makes you decide who to follow?
If someone follows you, do you follow them back? Is that the proper etiquette?
What factors decide who you want to follow or who you don't want to follow?
I rarely follow anyone here. And it is simply because nobody writes on topics that I passionately really find compelling. If someone wants to follow me, then great, they've found my topics to be compelling. But to merely follow someone "just because" isn't going to do much other than having more followers.
Good answer! That's the truth in my opinion, if you just randomly begin following someone in hope that they follow you back, they might follow you back but never surf one of your hubs. It would be counter productive.
if someone follows me, I read their profile. if it seems they'll be writing something I'm interested in, I follow back. I also check their activity. if they're on a following streak, I tend to disregard the sincerity of them following me.
Very insightful answer! Thanks. I tend to want natural followers as the previous answer referenced. Natural is just the people who are interested in my subjects and interests. Thanks for your answer!
At first I only followed people who wrote on topics that interested me. However, I now follow anybody who follows me. The change occurred for a couple reasons.
1. It lets me get some topics that I might not have read without following them.
2. I was not getting many new articles in my feed and found myself losing interest in Hubpages. By following more people, there is more activity.
3. HubPages rewards you for following people. (Penalize if you follow a significant more number of people than follow you. Some people just fish.)
Yes, I will automatically follow people back.
yes, i follow them back whether or not their articles are my interest or not. I am thankful that they are following me . Furthermore, if i publish new hubs, they will be notify. That is an advantage for me.

I am literally sick and tired of people who follow you, and then, when you follow them back, they promptly unfollow you. Really, people? What do you do when someone unfollows you shortly after you follow them? Do you hunt them down and unfollow them as well? Do you send them mail saying what they...

On Hubpages, if someone follows you, do you have to follow them back as courtesy?I have noticed a lot of people that have followed me that don't leave any comments. I wonder if I should follow them back as courtesy or not? The ones that do leave comments when they follow me are the ones...

I presently follow 1,975 hub members. My followers are 1,436. I remember hearing something about it being best to unfollow those that are not active on your hubs or that hold no further interest for you.So, I've been doing this. My question is: Have I been mislead or am I...

Wouldn't it be great if we could de-fan a follower? If your asking, "why in the world would you want to do that?" Let me tell you. Recently I have been gaining quite a few followers which actually helped push my numbers over 200. That is great. However, most of these people have not only...

I have had new hubbers with no hubs coming in to follow as many people as they can. Some look rather suspicious and I do not really appreciate the follow from some of these people. Can we have an option to block such people from following us?

If someone follows you - is it sort of unspoken that you're supposed to follow them back? On some sites (twitter comes to mind) it's a kind of good etiquette to follow someone who follows you. Do people feel thats the case on hubpages?
