Are there rogue HP staff amongst the writers or are certain peoples' egos too large?

If you don't understand the question, you don't understand.

Hello there Miss K.O.......To answer your question, because I do happen to understand...
Some HP Staff ( or possibly all of them?) do write hubs.  If you search a bit, you will find some.  I'm sure they are much too busy running HP to write often, but I'm only guessing.  HP is a huge operation to handle.

About certain people and their over-sized egos....(commonly referred to as Blow-Hards)  those humorous characters can be found anywhere we wander.  We can hardly escape them.

You obviously refer to HP egos.  Once any hubber is here a while, reads a lot of hubs and interacts here & there, it's fairly easy to pick up on attitudes & personalities.  There are numerous heavy-hitters here, some who have been here since the birth of HP.  Most of them make a lot of money, know nearly everything about.....well, everything.   As is often "typical," it all goes straight to their head......Like a formerly average guy who suddenly wears a uniform & a badge.

Now he's an "Authority," with the rules, a gun and a nasty attitude.  Throwing their weight around has fulfilled every real thrill they never had.  So, you understand this scenario.  Basically they become real jerks in the eyes of everyone around them.  They think they're exceptionally "cool."  This is good because everyone deserves at least ONE fan.

It can be disappointing, but the good news is (as I'm sure you have found) the vast majority of all hubbers are as real, down to earth and wonderful as can be.  I've made friends here and formed bonds that I will treasure forever.   This is what makes it easy to ignore and disregard the blow hards...and those who worship them.  They aren't worth time or effort.  You will eventually not even notice them...as though they are invisible......despite the fact that they continue to snarl & snip at the peasants.

You are doing a fabulous job here and have reached high levels that so many simply don't.   Smile....& keep knockin 'em dead, K.O !!

I am glad you appear quite often in the 'questions' and 'forums' sections Kathleen. It is nice to see a friendly helpful face. I understand where you are coming from, and fpherj48 as well. Some people's egos are just too big and although they know most about everything, the come over as abrupt and rude. They write hubs but tend to not read or follow anyone else's hubs so don't leave comments or interact anywhere bar the forums and questions. Although they often provide good information their attitude tends to deter new or inexperienced hubbers from asking questions as they are often treated like fools for asking dumb questions. Am I on the right path?

Is it the right path? Not sure, but it is certainly the same path I am on Jodah! And glad to have you walking it with me :-)

I am new to HP, but based on my readings on the Forums and the Web, I am pretty sure there are rogues in the HP staff. I have not encountered one yet. I have also read that to some HP is an exclusive club, that is if you are not in with the club, your are nothing and your hubs are ignored and quality assessed very strictly and sometimes not featured. I do not know if this is true, but so far I am happy with my  2 weeks writing experience  with HP. I am a former Lensmaster and looking forward for a positive( if not lucrative) experience with HP in the years to come.  If I were you I follow the advise of fpherj48 just to ignore the rogues and just keep writing. Good Day and Cheers!

David...Welcome! Wish you success. I do know what K.O. means, but we also know it's the "exception" and not the "rule," here.  NO "exclusive club!!" 3+yrs here, I've never found this to be true. Use your own perspective & see for yourself. Peace
