Hubs getting flooded with useless, pointless, random (apparently) comments, anyone experienced this?
I've been lately getting flooded with useless random comments on many of my Hubs. Has this happened to you before? Is it a new thing? I am a bit surprised as I'm here for quite some time now and this is my first. Which, to me, is not surprising giving that the topics that I write about are not trendy nor pop up in most common web searches. I think....
Unfortunately, occasionally SPAM comments are part of online writing.
You have the option to set each Hub such that comments must be approved before they show up.
You can also set them to only allow comments from logged in users.
I suggest setting your Hubs such that you have to approve comments.
http://hubpages.com/my/hubs/comments (see Show Settings)
You can then review the comments periodically and mark those SPAM that are.
The system then uses this information to help identify SPAM comments going forward so you can help other authors and yourself by marking SPAM comments.
I have that same experience the past 2 days. I just did not approve it and marked it as spam.
i think these new useless comments are people flooding in from bubblews, they have no where to go now, so decided to jump around leaving stupid baseless comments. I get these too here and bubblews.
I had that a few weeks ago ... i checked the IP address and it went to some content writing login page.
Just some spammers... mark them as spam so hubpages can deal with it.

Do you leave pointless comments on hubs just to increase your hub score?

I now have 17 articles published and most are in niche sites. Why am I not getting comments from readers? I have very few comments so far. Is this related to quantity of impressions, where the more impressions I rack up I could get more comments coming in?Appreciate any ideas.

Do the judges on American Idol provide constructive criticism to the contestants, or are they just making pointless insults for the sake of ratings? AND, is anyone else bothered by the way the that Ryan Seacrest pauses when he introduces the show? "I'm Ryan Seacrest and...

I've noticed that I keep seeing HOTDs that fit the niche sites yet weren't chosen for the niche sites because they still have HubPages URLs. Why not save some time in the selection process for the niche sites and mine all the recent HOTDs and all of the Editor's Choice hubs for use on the niche...

Just in the past 10 minutes or so I've already gotten 3 spam comments, all on the same hub! And whenever I delete one, it seems another immediately comes up!I'm sure that when I wake up tomorrow (it's almost 1 in the morning now) I'll have many more to delete. Ugh, is there a way to stop these spam...

I love all the extras HubPages has added to make managing the hubs easier. One that needs fixing is the "corrections" feature. Showing spelling errors in visitor comments does not help at all. Please have the programming skip visitor comments in corrections shown. I cannot edit their...
