The ads on my hub are not relevant to the content. How can I get them off?
If you've just published then they'll be the generic ads. Adsense doesn't always crawl the content of the page straight away, so it can take a few hours before you get the relevant ads. Just give it some time. HubPages completely controls the ads, so it's nothing you can change, anyway.
Yeah check your hub, if it's currently "unpublished" then adsense will have very generic content for their ads on your page. Once it's published then adsense will be able to crawl your page so they can put appropriate ads up. Again, this is only possible for them to do after it's published. Even then it takes a day or so for adsense to check your new published hub out.
You are right, I'm still adding content. Now I understand why I'm getting the generic ads. Thank you all for your help.
My first hub will be "small business marketing environments." I've got the text in, but still have to add art, video, etc.

Is it just me, or do the adsense adds that pop up often have nothing to do with the topic of your hub? Is there anything that can be done to have some control over the ads that come up (and to make them more relevant)?

I published an article on suicide. I thought the ads were off until it gained more traffic. But I just checked it out and it appears that the subject matter falls outside of the TOS?!!?? I had no idea. Staff and veterans, please clarify.

I recently posted an article about tips for quitting smoking. The whole focus of the hub, for anyone with a pair of eyes, is about quitting smoking. I've tried to optimize my hub so it would display the appropriate Adsense ads; instead I'm getting ads for video games, credit scores, la-z-boy...

Hi again,I posted on this topic before, but I have lost where in the zillions of posts the topic thread is located, so here's my latest lament:Moments ago, I hit the "PUBLISH" button for my latest hub on the unbelievability of human-caused global warming, and, low and behold, what sorts...

I was just looking at my adsense account info and saw something that never caught my eye before. It says I can choose between"show ads based on user interest and demographic categories"or "don't show ads based on user interest etc.."Does anyone recommend a particular setting?

Now don't get me wrong, I totally love writing on Hubpages and being a part of the Hubbing community, but I have lost a little heart recently when one hub of mine on "How to Improve Male Fertility" had the ads disabled based on automatic filters. This problem I reported in order to have...
