      I love Albert Einstein!  Not only was he a genius, but he was also very wise.  smile

      I think so, too. Schools don't teach how to learn and live.

    An interesting way to think about education and what it really means. I agree with him.

      Today, unfortunately, in most schools we have schooling, not education.

    So what are all your best quotes? The ones that you have made up and stuck by? That will be fun!

    I have two to start it off again:

    'Being British is not a blood line, its a state of mind!' I use that one all the time, and the other?

    'People are like cats. Give em a new box (cafe, shop, etc) and they have to go sit in it. Whether its crap or not! LOL!

      Nice Neil. I like quotes that inspire. Though, I am game for funny ones, too.

      Nell, I really really like your last one. I resemble that remark. Here's my made-up quote:
      Government is nothing but legalized mob rule.
      (I made that up when I was a reporter covering the State Capitol.}

    Good quote, Kenna. I'd never heard that one. I envy the fact that my husband had the privilege of meeting Einstein when he was only 4 years old. He said he'd slipped away from his father who was in a meeting at Oak Ridge and came across an old man fishing on a creek bank alone. They visited for a couple of hours.  He really liked "the old man who was kind to him." Today he treasures that meeting.

    Great quote! At least 98.6% of the teacher training that I received came from hands-on experience in the classroom, and not from the teacher education courses that I had to take to become certified. With the exception of my Methods of Teaching course, all of my teacher education courses were b-o-r-i-n-g.
