I have an old Tumblr account. I am wondering if I should use it as a source of traffic for my HP traffic. Does anyone use Tumblr?

I wouldn't bother. I found the effort I put into my account wasn't worth it. Besides, a lot of the accounts there are low quality, spam, etc.

I actually forgot about my account. I haven't done much with it. I won't do much with it. Thanks for the feedback.

I have a Tumblr but I only occasionally post links to my Hubs on it, I mainly use it to share random rock 'n roll/movie related junk.

To be honest I don't think I've ever seen a single view from Tumblr show up in my "traffic sources" list.

Tumblr might have had its days and gone.

...and porn. Lots and LOTS of porn.

Imagine my surprise the first time I got a notification that someone with a name like "SuzieCamGirlXXX" was now "following" me on Tumblr and I absent-mindedly clicked the link to look at "her" profile, haha. Thank goodness my wife wasn't looking over my shoulder. big_smile

I learned how to "block" people really quick.

      Sounds like a low-grade Twitter. Ha-Ha. (I won't tell your wife.)

I tried, but like a lot of these bookmarking/social media sites, they produce practically no traffic.
Personally, I find Pinterest is the only source that produces a reasonable amount of traffic.

I have found Pinterest is fruitful. I have never heard these sites called "bookmarking/social media." How do they differ from Pinterest?

According to Wikipedia, Tumblr is a "microblogging and social networking website". But you can just share standalone URLs to a webpage also, including a photo. Stumbleupon and Digg are probably better examples of social bookmarking sites, solely for posting links to pages.

Thank you for the clarification. It reminds me when Tumblr arrived at the scene. "Microblogging" was a new rage. I was assigned to cover it. Celebrities and such were creating their websites there. That was some time ago.
