I'm trying to link to a certain product but the widgety thing that finds the product is giving me the wrong item. In fact it's giving me an item that links to a Page Not Found. The only thing I can do is to paste in my own affiliate link for the correct item but that means that earnings will come via Amazon and not HubPages.
Also, I'd added a link to the item a month ago after I noticed that the original link had stopped working and somehow it's been switched to an inferior cheaper item. Hence the necessity of changing it now.
Any advice from a staff member? These glitches are costing me a lot of potential sales.
Edit: Okay, I've managed to get the link in but the price shown in the widgety thing is different to the one shown on the hub and the subsequent link. It's all very frustrating.
It may be something Amazon is doing to push its own sales. I've noticed that if I link to the cheapest priced seller for a particular item, when I test the link, it defaults to Amazon as the seller (at their higher price).
Yes, that might be something to do with it, Beth. Luckily, the link goes to the correctly priced item but the 'thingy' (what is that called - when you're trying to add a text link?) shows it at double the price. As long as the reader sees the right price that's all that matters.

Hi all. I have set up Amazon Affiliate program on hubpages and featured Amazon products on a number of my hubs. Looking at it after a while, the link-type report in the Amazon account shows that no one has clicked on the products so far. I wanted to know whether this actually works, so I clicked on...

I have always added my Products via a keyword search but I have been asked to add a couple of products via links instead. I am not sure whether my being in the UK makes a difference but should I be adding links from Amazon.com or from Amazon UK? I know that most of my traffic still...

I tend to use photos of Amazon products from the product's page when I'm promoting them on an article and just credit them to Amazon. This probably isn't such a good idea, but if the product is being promoted would they mind I wonder? The complication of course is the seller on Amazon might not own...

I am seeing the kind of traffic I used to get a few years ago after pages have been moved to niche sites but I'm getting a fraction of the Amazon income. There are a lot of factors involved but a main suspect for a significant part of this issue this has to be the replacement of Amazon capsules...

I have added relevant in-test links in my hubs to Amazon products but they always seem to be removed. In a recent hub on crystals I added one in-text link to buy one of teh stones mentioned but it was removed when the hub was chosen for a niche site. The link didn't disrubt the text or reading flow...
