So it was a little hazy, with how to make money on this site.  So I just posted my first article, will I make money on it.  If not, what do I need to do to start making money writing articles for this site.

The learning center is your friend; study every word in it.

Hi -- you have the right idea about using downtime to write articles here -- I think of it as "knitting," and I generally do it instead of just watching TV or doing nothing. Over the years, it has accumulated into meaningful income.

As you know, you have a ways to go before you really hit the right combination of topic and presentation. Looking at other peoples' articles helps me come with ideas and see how my own articles could be better. It's a long road, but as with anything else, being persistent and consistent will pay off in the long run. Goodluck!

Took a look at your first hub. I can pretty much guarantee it will be rejected, but that's okay because it's how you'll learn to create better articles.

Firstly, it's too short. You'd need at least 1,000 words for a decent article.

Break the text into multiple text capsules with correctly capitalized subtitles. Add legal-to-use, appropriately licensed images (Pixabay.com, Unsplash and lots of other sites).

Write topics that people are searching for. Your visitors are not going to come from the HubPages community; you have to attract search engine traffic.

And, as Wilderness says, make friends with the Learning Center. You can navigate to it from the Help button at the top right of every page.

    Good luck and welcome.
