What should I use for a bulleted list of definitions? Bold text could be used but isn't good for making the terms searchable.  Attempting to highlight using H3 tagging just highlights the whole paragraph.

Have you tried HTML edit? You can specifically select the parts you want highlighted by using the <h3> and </h3> tags.

What's weird about it is the fact that you can't have an h3 tag and a normal paragraph on the same row, if you edit it in HTML it will automatically move the remaining text on the next row.

But depending on your needs, might do the trick?

I figured out it's possible to have the first line of an entry in a list changed to H3. The trick is to add text then a line feed and then highlight the text and format it as H3. Adding a line feed within an existing paragraph doesn't seem to create a new bullet entry

Why not just use the bullets?  Or, conversely, why not put the name, underline it, put a dash and then the definition?

I ended up using H3 tags for each term after a bullet, then a new line followed by the explanatory text. I don't know whether that's the recommended way of doing it. Presumably it's better than highlighting text at the beginning in bold, as regards Google extracting the info.
