what's with the new profile page designs?

I just came on my profile page and the new design is terrible. There's a lot of empty space and the articles are not on it, you have to click articles. The profile page is boring and lacks relevant information. I don't care about accolades because they are meaningless. This is a disservice to the writers who deserve to have their work prominently showcased on their profile page without having to click something extra to get there.

HP, please tell me this is a mistake.

I was surprised at first, and unsure about the look, but as I read about the why behind it I saw and understood the need. After checking out the new avenues to articles, etc. I decided to make friends with it. smile

I've read the post about why the changes were made and, in theory, it was the right thing to do.  However, I agree with you 100%.  I want my articles prominently displayed on my profile page.  Readers shouldn't have to click links to get to them.  And what if readers don't see the links?
I didnt' at first.  I had to look for the link to my articles.  If you look at popular websites, they always feature articles on their landing pages.  You don't have to go looking for them.

Update to my original reply:  Today I noticed that when I go to my profile page, the list of my hubs is now the default rather than my bio.  I really like the layout of the social media buttons and stats in the upper right hand corner.  Also the prominent "Contact [hubber name]" button.  Now if only HP gave us a way to sort our articles by topic instead by date published.

Not impressed at all, but I guess we have to live with it.

I agree. If the profile bio page must be the landing spot it should at least have a BIG button that says “See my Articles” or some such thing.

Maybe we should change our profile to "If you want to learn, see my articles." or some such!

Mentioning articles in the bio's beginning might be a good idea, for sure. Looks like they are listening to feed back and working to work out issues.

I am not all that fond of them either. I don't like how accessing the forums is tedious.

I read how "GREAT" the administration thinks this change is, but our articles should be on the first page. I only have about 1/4 of them displayed now, and they are not my most popular.

Also, when "Articles" is clicked, nothing happens. Does Maven want to kill us? What good is a site where a person has to work too hard to find articles, especially when we write in different niches? Readers are notoriously lazy..This doesn't benefit us at all, nor do some of the ads I see on my work. The functions are not more smooth unless HP staff is completely brainwashed now.
