It has value and potential, but needs a little work

Hello.  Can I have some help with this, please? It has been classed by HubPages editors as having value and potential but needs a little work before it can be moved to a HubPages Network.

    Thanks

I would work on some of those subheadings. There are too many mentions of Abbadia. You should use relevant keyphrases but you have to strike the right balance. In fact, you use 'Abbadia' 49 times throughout the article. Perhaps too many?

I'd remove the ratings capsule too. It's irrelevant... best suited to recipes and game reviews.

And how about limiting the use of 'we'? I realise it's a tour but it's a little grating after a while.

Check for typos: "On the Est wing, we find the chapel..."

Great photos, by the way. Good luck with getting it to a network site. I'm sure it'll pass with a little work.

Thanks very much for the input.  I see what you mean about using "Abbadia" so many times.

I'll have a look at all your other points, they are very helpful and give me a checklist to start editing.

Good to see you again, Princessa. Have you kept up with the terrible unease surrounding your shaving advice?

Hello Will, no I haven't.  What happened?  I've been absent for a very long time and I see that too many things have changed, it's hard to keep up

Nothing that you can be blamed for. The site algo decided to put your "What Do Men Really Think About Pubic Hair On Women" article in the sidebar of pages everywhere, including pages that you would expect  parents and kids to use.

              There was uproar.

Can't search the forums these days for a thread to illustrate what happened but there was a great deal of huffing and puffing. I was rather upset when they appeared on my Owlcation pages.

But as I said, not your fault...

Of course not my fault, sorry about that all the same.  I wonder why no one contacted me directly about it.
Do you still have the same problem?

They fixed those kinds of issues I reckon.

Incidentally, you might try to get your article moved to Bellatory. It will get a lot more views. Might need improving but probably worth the effort.

The page linked below has 27,000 votes on its poll which means a lot of visits. It also has a number of Amazon ads, which probably means a good income (if the ads are not used mods remove them).

Again sorry for the trouble and thanks for the advice.  I will look into it, might be worth as it is a hub with one 27,000+ votes and 14000+votes on its polls.

Princessa, it was not just yours, but when those types of articles began being listed in the recommended list on my hubs, I received a warning from Google telling me that ads have been restricted due to the reference to adult sexual content, which is against their ad policy.

I had nothing of that kind in my content, but the recommended list bothered Google.

Nothing against you, Princessa, but I had to report this to staff to make Google happy again and get my ads back so I would earn revenue on my hubs.

HubPages reacted quickly and updated their algorithm so those recommended hubs would no longer appear. Then Google reinstated my ads.

Looking at your hub, I see ads have been restricted. Are you aware of that? You said above that you wonder why no one contacted you about it. Have you checked for warnings in your Google account? That’s what you need to check. HubPages is not responsible for informing us of Google regulations that may affect our content.

Will, that other hub you listed as an example also has ads restricted. This clearly shows that Google enforces their terms of service. That Hubber may not even be aware of it, which is sad since he is getting such a huge volume of traffic and earning nothing from it.

We all need to keep a close watch on our AdSense account to be sure we never get any warnings. Google does send an email with warnings, but that could end up in your spam folder and be overlooked. So check the notifications in your AdSense account once in a while by clicking the bell icon on top.

My guess is that Jacob earns rather well from Amazon.

You are right though, Google needs watching. It is not worth losing your adsense account (though I imagine ad restriction is more likely).

Shame the change to Maven gave us such a useless site search facility. Or I would dig out the forum threads.

You're absolutely right. Jacob doesn't need to be concerned about AdSense. He has tons of Amazon capsules on that page. I have a hub with five Amazon capsules that gets a few orders every day. So I know that works.

Google does restrict rather than outright ban someone. You're right on that topic too. They just restrict on a page by page issue. I guess people get banned only if they are repeat offenders, or if they don't correct things after receiving a warning.

As for Maven, I noticed the difficulty with search too. I found a workaround. Do the search of HubPages forums through Google. Forum posts are indexed by Google.
