I'm starting a new math article and can't make up my mind whether to write it as two separate standalone guides or keep it as one. Usually these articles become monstrous and end up being 5000 words or more. So if I do split it up into two, is there any option other than links for navigating between the two guides? Maybe a "Read More" or "Next Section" or "Next Chapter" button could be implemented that would be more prominent than a hyperlink for navigation purposes? We're advised to split up long articles into two or more, so what does this mean in the help guides?:
"A short teaser or a link to "read more" or "continue" is not allowed. Articles must be complete and their title should reflect what they’re about."
I have never had any success at trying to do that. I have two articles on closely related topics, but one get way more traffic than the other one. People just don't seem to click the link.
It's a pity we can't add links to photos like on blogs. Then we could make our own clickable buttons! Editors have allowed me to reference my basic lawn mower troubleshooting guide from the advanced one (and vice versa). So today I added the main photo from each article just below the link to act as a hint. Not sure whether that's allowable but we'll see.
Is there any way you can split the content into individual subject matter. I understand it’s all one subject. But maybe you can consider sub-subjects, and then write individual hubs on each one. The point is that every hub needs to be a stand-alone magazine-type article. They need to stand on their own merit.
As for linking from one to another, keep in mind that you shouldn’t link to a hub on HubPages’ home site. If you do, it will never be moved to a niche site. So that’s kind of a catch-22 when you’re writing a bunch of hubs at once, and hoping to get them on niche sites.
They will be standalone Glenn. The guide is about a certain topic in math, but it's broad. Each sub-section will be self-contained, but ideally I would like a reader to start at the beginning and work their way through, understanding each concept before they move onto the next section/article. Each section assumes the reader knows about the previous section, but if they don't, they should be able to navigate backwards. A certain level of understanding of maths is obviously needed, otherwise I would have to write a complete set of lessons from Kindergarten to college level!

Has anyone else experienced editors adding a further reading section to the end of their article? I have not had an article edited in quite some time and I'm not sure the best way to go about this. Email them or change/remove the links myself?Three of the four links are exactly what I wrote and are...

I have two closely related articles (basic and advanced troubleshooting guides) with four of the same words in both titles on the first page of SERPs, yet on Owlcation an article won't rank at all for four consecutive words from the title because there's an older article on the site using those...

I noticed that hubs in niche sites no longer include the "More by this author" section below the hub. Is this just an oversight or was it a decision to drop it on niche sites?

Hello Beautiful Souls,Has anyone else noticed that we are having articles displayed as related/suggested articles in the body of the article? And sometimes in the between the comment as well. It seems like a distraction. It doesn't look good. (I have just noticed it on Discover) Something like...

I have written a pro-president Trump hub. I wrote it in the weeks after the election but before the inauguration. it is interesting to see how my predictions are turning out. The hub is entitled "No joke! 50 Ways Donald Trump will make America great...
