I just noticed that the category isn't right for one of my recent articles that got placed on DenGarden. Could this hurt my potential traffic?
The following article is about "Common Uses for Wood Ash", but they choose to put it under Home Improvement > Fireplaces - makes no sense?
https://dengarden.com/home-improvement/ … ome-Garden
Email the team and ask for it to be moved. Seems a logical transfer to make.
If you write the appropriate permalink for your article, it won't hurt your potential traffic.
Ameen, your answer has nothing to do with the question being asked.
Yup. But being in the right category would help with internal traffic.
That's what I was thinking, just couldn't think of the correct wording!
I went ahead and sent a message to through the help section to see what they say.
As far as I know search engine traffic is determined by the words you use in your article and has nothing to do with how hubpages decided to categorize it. Even if it is moved, it will not matter to your potential traffic.
How do you feel about spiders being categorized as insects?
Well, it's easier to spell, but for those with English as a 2nd language, easily confused with the spelling 'incest'?
Sorry, reading your comment reminded me of a time I was chatting with a co-worker from India and he spelled insect wrong. ^_^
I agree with Dr. Mark. As far as I am concerned, all of my hubs are about gardening, but the editors have moved some to Owlcation, Holidappy and Delishably. I'm never concerned which niche site my hubs are on as long as they are on a niche site. When people search, they are not searching for the niche sites, they are searching for topics. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even notice which site the hubs are on.
Yeah, it makes sense. Thanks for responding!
Thanks, it does make sense. Just wanted to be sure since so much has changed the last few years.
The team is helpful, so it shouldn't be a problem to move it over to the appropriate category. I agree with Brandon. It's beneficial for internal traffic.
He can correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think the OP asked this question because he is concerned about the 10 or 15 views a day he might get from internal traffic. (Which would be 0 impressions, by the way.)
Yesterday I got 200 plus views from Dengarden to a single hub. They may be from Google originally. Why do you think it's not useful?
If someone goes into Google and then finds Dengarden, and from there they find your hub, does that really count as internal traffic?
Yup it does. It they go to Google then come to another author then come to you as a related hub it counts as a dengarden visit.
What term do you use when a hubber visits one of your hubs?
If a hubber visits it shows as social traffic under hubpages.com unless they are visiting through the niche site.
