    Hi All,

I wish to know if any of the hubbers is working on Upwork and have faced account suspension. Most of my teammates are complaining about the same.

I've worked on Upwork. I had nothing but trouble while doing so. It started quite well, but payments were slow and mixed up. Then when I'd decided to stop doing it, they said they were clawing back an amount (I forget how much). When I contacted the client, he said he knew nothing about it. I cancelled my account straight away. Anyway... too messy for me.

Yes, you're right. Still some people are making millions out of it.
By the way, in which year did you use the site?

Millions of what? If you are talking Euros or US dollars, I do not believe it unless you can work 40 hours a day 30 days a week.

Millions of US dollars, yes that's sound shocking. But many freelancers have this earning on their profile, while others have made it private.

It's not just writing. There are opportunities for filmmakers and all kinds of skills. Anything that can be delivered digitally.

Yes, some are charging $300 to $400 per hour. But this account suspension news is very saddening. I used Upwork before, I am planning to start it again, but it isn't really clear why they suspended few accounts

Even if a screenwriter gets 100,000 for a major motion picture, he does not get that, every month. You do realize she is talking about making 100,000 per month?
The income from writing a screenplay on one of the networks is more like 10,000.

I'm not saying that people earn 'millions' (I haven't a clue what the upper earnings are -- I earned $520 in a couple of months), just that it's not only writing services on offer/required.

@DrMark, yes people have earned millions on Upwork the OP is right. Many have an hourly rate of say 75 USD: 75*40*52 (40 hours a week and 52 in a year) that is around 150k and Upwork/Elance has been up for quite a few years now. 75 is not the upper boundary, people charge even 150 an hour and they have a consistent stream of jobs, writing, SEO, web design, video editing, etc.

I did work last a year or so ago, but they keep charging both the client and freelancer more and more. Recently they have given clients the option to pay to get a membership account as well, stupid really. Accounts don't get suspended unless there is something fishy about them. Maybe they tried to get paid outside of upwork and a client reported it.

Yes, maybe because of upwork fees. I, rather, watch out for that. Thank you.
