Yep, it's the 28th. Stay tuned for a PayPal message coming near you. It is nice getting this periodic reminder as to why we put up with all the internet aggravations.

And a personal rant. If there ever were two words that should be one word, it is "hot dog". It really should be "hotdog". The English language is dead wrong on this and the issue needs to be addressed.

And this concludes this important post.

Got my PayPal infusion today, and I had a hot dog for lunch. Coincidence? I think not.

My wife calls hot dog meat "animal bottom". She seems to think it is just the ground up a**** of  any beast that stumbles into an abattoir.

I have tried to explain the wonderful science of mechanically recovered meat and all those tasty nitrates.

    She is impervious to reason.

Labor Day weekend approaches. Hot dogs will abound. Forum posts and article readership will not. Am staying home and avoiding the usual chaos.

Ah, that's interesting. The US mob keep US holidays out here. We usually get a good meal out of them for 4th July. They make real hot dogs, burgers, and drink something they call beer.

Not sure if Labor Day registers the same, though.

Also, pretty much everyone who works, works online teaching Chinese students. Might not get the time off even though all the companies involved are US, of course.

I'm just curious why my profile score keeps dropping. I've been a fine human being in my own right.

Employers use all kinds of scoring systems to very potent effect. They stimulate a lot of anxiety and as a result, perhaps grind an extra half percentage point of productivity out of a worker.

As the rats in the wheel, it is duty to ignore the whole damn thing.

They just want to be sure I never hit 90 again. If I were to be randomly picked as a 90's Kid, they'd have a heart attack. big_smile

Ah, now I see. You want your fifteen minutes of fame. If it is any consolation, you will always be famous to me.

I should have said that since HP's system does not ruin your life even if you fall short of expectations, I have nothing against it.

Even so, we wheel rats need to keep our guard up.

Thanks. Actually, if I were to be picked, it would probably be an embarrassment for me. Most of the people who knew and loved me have long since departed this site.

Someone at HP is working this Labor Day Weekend. Whoever it is, is officially thrown out of the Slackers Club. In other words, I just noticed that the earnings have updated through the end of the month. big_smile

I just thought I'd make another cheerful post. We need more of those around here.

My article traffic, which is generally non-conducive to worthwhile holiday traffic, did amazing well for Labor Day Monday. We might be in for a prosperous time these coming months.

Didn't even check my traffic. I put my 2 or 3 good hours into clearing vegetation from the garden after someone saw a krait in the undergrowth.

The only treatment for a krait bite is immediate amputation of the affected limb. With a cobra bite you might want to try antivenom, with a krait it is tourniquet and machete.

Must admit the garden looked a lot better.

I, however, was, obliged to spend the rest of the day listening to cello music and watching YouTube videos of some guy building a log cabin in the frozen wastes of Canada with the sound down, lol.

I'm afraid any real effort these days just reminds how pathetic I have become. Soon, I will start telling people my age, without being asked.

      Quote if the Day:

"What shall I do now? What shall I do? I shall rush out as I am, and walk the street with my hair down, so. What shall we do tomorrow? What shall we ever do?"

Yeah, when we reach a certain age, we acknowledge reality and that all hope and aspirations are gone. All that is left is to enjoy what we can of life that is remaining.

My previous post was cheerful about our writing adventures, now here is a depressing one: big_smile

I am witnessing the death of one of my remaining articles. It has absolutely nothing to do with anything HP did or failed to do. It is because of Google's "new" world order. I'm busily writing an article about the experience; the critter will definitely save online writers a lot of grief, both present and future.
