    Hi guys,

I noticed one of my articles had the symbol for "copied" and I clicked on the link where it was supposedly placed. My article's nowhere in sight. It leads to a porn site. Like graphic. Will this affect my account at all? No, my article's not that sort of... shall we say flavour? lol. It's about Bull Terriers.

    Thanks.

I am afraid to think how your article about Bull Terriers may be used in connection with a porn site.

Even though you could not find your article, I would suggest that you google phrases from your article in that site to see if you can find it. This article explains how: https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/how- … ite-search

Then if you find it you may want to file a DMCA takedown request. Better yet ask Google to delete all listings of that article relative to that site. There is a form that you can fill in on the google site.

I doubt that this will affect your account because Google is pretty good at determining which article was published first and I have never heard of them punishing anyone for having their article copied. However if you can get rid of it I would.

Your article is or has been copied there Jana, but you will often struggle to see it as the site is redirecting you to the porn site. The URL typically changes, if you keep an eye on the URL box. I have a few of these warnings also.

As far as I can tell, your author name isn't directly linked to the porn site and often, they will disappear over time. It's just a way of luring unsuspecting individuals to these sites.

The problem with filing a take down notice with Google is that they have to be able to see the plagiarised content. Hence, your request may not be successful, although they may have software that enables them to read the content.

I would probably do a Google search, as Quotations suggests, just to see what results are being generated. I would also be grateful to hear if anyone else has any success with taking down these sites. So far, most of mine just vanished.

Thanks so much guys, this really helps. I managed to track down the hosting company and lodged a complaint. If that works I'll let you know.
