Fall in the Value of the Dollar

    I've been waiting for it to start rising before withdrawing from PayPal, but it's reckoned that the tumble over the last few months is only the beginning.
    Any thoughts on this matter?

      With the looming election, worsening pandemic and turbulent social situation here in the US, I think that the global community is losing confidence in the dollar.  I don't see any improvement in the economic and political situation unless Biden wins the election.

      I wouldn't expect a big change in the value of the dollar relative to other world currencies in the next few years. Most industrialized countries are lowering their interest rates, have problems with their economies, and are printing lots of money just like the United States.

      I just looked at the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) and it is at 90.96. The low in the last five years has 89.3 in early 2018. The index is near a critical point. Hard to say which way it will go, but it is near a long-term low.

    A large slump forecast in 2021, some sites quoting 20%. That's depressing as regards our earnings. I was going to wait until Biden is inaugurated to see whether there's an upwards trend, but looks as if things are just going to get worse.
