SEO Rendering After Moves

I am wondering what effect, if any, it has on search engine position/readership when an article is moved from HP to one of the niche sites.

It seems to me, in looking at the colored traffic arrows in my list of articles, that after a move, traffic drops off.

Is this my imagination, or is it really a 'thing'?

This has happened with my articles too. The traffic has dropped off, due to the recent changes.
I am not happy about the comments section taken off. And the profile picture of the writer not visible.

It would be nice if they showed the authors name as an obvious link, maybe change the color from black to orange!   It is a link and it gives the reader a real glimpse into further writing and reading by the author if they click on the name.

          Agree with you.

Agreed, but I suspect that such a link would inevitably lead back to the main Hub Pages site, and it seems they are trying to prevent  niche sites from having any affiliation whatsoever with Hub Pages.
We aren't even supposed to use the word "hubs" in our articles if we reference another one, but say "article" instead.

My experience with the niche sites depends on which niche site the editors decide to move my hubs.  Anything moved to Dengarden takes off.  Holidappy and Delishably traffic is mediocre.  The traffic I get on Owlcation is neither good nor bad.

Yeah, my traffic kind of tanked. I'd have to check what it was this time last year, in case it's a normal fluctuation; but it's definitely dropped significantly since last month.

Things are about the same for me. I did notice a small drop but this is mostly my older hubs.

I've been seeing blue arrows everywhere. Hope this is only seasonal and has nothing to do with the niche site updates.

Same for me. Blue arrows everywhere. This is kind of worrisome.

Possibly the result of another Google update. They seem to happen at least every month.

This is true for me in the first couple of weeks but after that, I usually see an increase in traffic. Of course certain niche sites like Owlcation, PatientsLounge and RemedyGrove just never work out for me traffic wise. I won't even write something that I think would end up placed on one of those niches at this point.
