I usually just link the Amazon product, but I am thinking of returning to the Amazon capsule instead. Just wondering, are those of you who are using the Amazon capsules experiencing the same click decrease as those of us who are just linking the product. I know the new format has the underlined link the same color, so readers may not realize that they can click on it. Any thoughts? Also, just wondering, is this black color expected to remain or is that something you are working out with Maven?

On an additional note, I am not sure, Are we even allowed to post the Amazon capsules? They still exist, but I read another post that indicates we can only link now. Which is correct?

We suggest using in-text links for now until the ad blocker issue is resolved! The issue with the "icon" not appearing is currently being worked on, so it will be more obvious.

We will be making an announcement about this soon!

I am not sure if you can still add the capsules, but I can tell you that back when the majority of my hubs had capsules instead of links most days I earned $0.00. When I switched to links most days I earned at least $10, and rarely did I see any day that had no earnings from Amazon.
Then Amazon reduced the earnings about 80%. Next HP made the links black, so very few people would even realize they were Amazon links. Thanks to their combined efforts, most days I earn about $2 from Amazon, despite my traffic, and one day last week I only made 86 cents. Thanks for that 1-2 punch there folks!!!
I realize you are just starting out here, but at this point I think you are wasting your time with Amazon, be they capsules or links.

Thank you. On the positive note, at least for this month, my earnings would probably be considered okay for a newbie who does not have a blog with a following or anything. Last month I earned very little from Anazon, but there were a decent number of clicks compared to this month.

I think you need to explicitly indicate that the link is to an Amazon product. I normally use the photo from the Amazon product page in articles. Not sure what the permission/copyright status is and who owns it, but if their product is being sold, why would they object?

I do not think we needed to do this in the past since the link had an obvious Amazon symbol. At this point, since Amazon is no longer paying for our time, I do not think it is worth it to go back and fix my articles.
