Linking to the hubs of others--does it draw revenue?

I remember reading a long time ago on this forum, back with previous administration, that if I linked to a post of another hubber that I stood to make revenue. I do not recall the context, because in those days Amazon capsules were far more commonly placed in articles; hence I am not sure if revenue would be AdSense, Amazon, or for any other thing.

One way or the other, my question is--is it still a way to make revenue? to link to other hubs?

You do not earn by linking out. But I tend to do it anyway because interlinking helps the niche site grow in authority which in the end brings in more traffic for everyone.

Linking to other people's Hubs doesn't earn anything now. It used to.

As Lobobrandon says, linking to  other Hubs can still benefit you indirectly, by increasing the authority of the niche sites. Just make sure you link ONLY to Hubs on the same niche site as yours.  Do not link to Hubs on Discovery or on HubPages.com

Did they? When was this. The only cross author earning I knew about was the referral program and never interlinking.

You could embed your referral tracker in the link at one time, and then you earned a share of revenue on that Hub.

Oh, I see. Thanks for that info. This is something I should implement in the new platform I am working on. I want healthy interlinking to be a thing and what better way than letting the authors do it themselves.

Thanks for this valuable info... I hope I can remember not to link to Discover or HubPages!
