Some have some misguided idea that leaving theoretically hurtful comments, will diminish someone's leaning towards publishing their own truths. This is peculiar. Whoever left the one in question, might need to talk to someone.

    I agree with you GwennyOh
Moreover, I would like to add that sometimes leaving a hurtful comment can motivate a person. Reverse psychology.

I agree, I feel invincible now.

I think though, that there are people who need to understand that this world is changing quickly. Words and concepts that used to be used effectively as weapons have lost their power.

      Thanks for your kindness, Misbah.

        My pleasure GwennyOh
People can get hurt with someone's harsh comment but they can take it as motivation too. Depends on their way of thinking. I have seen you many times guiding people but your speech sounds a little hard. but on forums, I have seen many people appreciating you as well.
The thing is you always point out things that are necessary to know. and I have always tried to find positive thoughts behind hard words. A diamond can never become a diamond until it is passed through heat and pressure.

        Blessings

I have always found you helpful.  A kind natured person who wants others to grow too. As far as I have seen you here  "You want the best for everyone,  pointing out others mistakes can make them a better person "

Someone figured it was worth their effort to call me a Satanist. What the heck? Why bother?

Oh, I've had that loads of times. There are some fervent fundamentalists on HubPages. So fervent that they seem slightly unhinged big_smile

    Nods on the unhinged.

I wonder why some figure that their selection of faith is so much better than everyone else's? That's not an actual question though, lol.

Right now I am communing with Beelzebul/Beelzebub, and he is showing me that he's been present in every religion throughout time, beginning in Sumer (by whichever name he at any given time had). When 'a certain prominent biblical character' healed by Beelzebub's powers, he did not dismiss accusations that he did so. People remember only that which serves them.

I am a Muslim, and mostly I interact with people here who believe in a different religion than mine. Choosing faith is one's personal choice and nobody should feel himself prior to others just because they think the religion they believe is better than others.

Once it happened to me on a forum here. where I was asked to just listen and not talk. I did not ask them why? because I already knew some people there were thinking they are a much better person than others. Just on the basis of a different religion. Not fair enough!! and the discussion was on religious belief, so I didn't mind to answer my opinion there. but humanity comes first always

Only one lady there showed her interest in my talks there.
I mean, which religion asks you to be a bad person? None

There is a huge difference between hurtful(more often than not you showed up having a superiority complex syndrome)and helpful comments, straight forward ie honest(you are careful with your words because your intention is to help) sugar coated comments is even worse. JS
An awesome day to you all!

Oh, I thought being called a "poet" here was meant to be a hurtful comment..lol. Remember when the most widely used insult was calling someone "gay?" That has certainly lost its power.

How far we've come, even when it does not seem so. It's great to see that the world helped the gay community sort things out quite a bit with dissenters. We have a way to go in other areas, and I sense that's part of what this C-19 thing is about, whether anyone on any level of involvement realizes it or not. I think some salves work in mysterious ways.

I am a poet at heart as well, but unfortunately, poetry hasn't gotten me far on HP. I posted one and it wasn't worth my effort. I have written far better, but they are too short to post.
