Hi everyone. This has happened a few times now. Usually when articles are deleted they stay on the unpublished list, but I wrote a hub about a year ago about common types of scams (mainly tech support scams), how they work, and how to avoid getting duped. I distinctly remember publishing it and getting several comments praising it. Now it's nowhere to be seen on my article list, published or unpublished.
It's a little annoying because I worked really hard on that article and now it's gone, no warning or message from HP or anything, just removed. Has this ever happened to you?
Hey! I just looked at your Hubs and found the one you are talking about. It has a status of "Purged." It looks like it was last modified on 2020-06-16. Ring any bells? Did you get any emails around that time? Normally we don't purge articles completely. I asked the mod team what they thought and the only thing they can think of is that you accidentally hit "Delete" instead of "Unpublish." Apparently, this happens a lot. If that is not the case, I'm not sure what else it could be.
I'm sorry for the frustration—I wish I could help more!
Can purged articles be recovered? In any case if Poppy hasn't a saved copy, it might be possible to view the article on the Wayback Machine.
Thank you for getting back to me! I can't see the article at all. Is purged something a mod does? Is there a way of getting it back?
I can only see purged articles from our end. A mod can purge an article, but won't unless it's a big deal. Which doesn't seem to be the case here. The mod team said there is no way to do so from our end, but you can use the Wayback Machine site online and maybe find a cached snapshot version.
No, never. I hope you can recover it in some way. Looks like Samantha can help you out?
It never happened to me, but someone posted about it happening to them.
I've been here ten years, published hundreds of hubs and I can't say that it's ever happened to me (thank goodness!). I've had stuff kicked out of the niches, or unpublished, but not disappear.
What does your sentence: "Usually when articles are deleted they stay on the unpublished list" mean? Something is either deleted or unpublished, in my experience. They are distinct categories of things. My deleted stuff normally disappears within a few days, unpublished remains but in the unpublished category?

Have you ever had a hub unpublished for no good reason? It just happened to me and I am...outragedMy hub "I will no longer prostitut myself" was dealing with the futility of participating in the voting process that gives us no viable options. Is that enough reason to be unpublished?

The article in question was "Good Title and Caption Ideas for Content Creators". Here is the link to the unpublished page at least showing the url (https://discover.hubpages.com/technology/Caption-Ideas). I published this article on 2-21-22. There is usually a 1 day wait time for...

How long does it take for a deleted article to be removed from the articles page?

I took a few years off from writing avidly to focus on two degrees in English and Creative Writing. Now, as I am getting back into the content article writing routine again, I decided to add some creative writing flair to my content writing style. I thought it would be more engaging for the reader,...

People have suggested I join Infobarrel so I did. I unpublished and deleted a hub here about La Guancha in Tenerife and thought I would use it as my first InfoBarrel article. The first problem I ran into was it said I was using a keyword too much. The keyword was roses and I was saying that there...
