    Hello Beautiful Souls,

On 7 th December, I published an article regarding Names of Allah. The article got featured on the same day it was published. Yesterday, I received an email from the editors informing me that this article contains promotional links and that I should remove them. I removed a few links and it was republished, but today about a few hours ago, I received another email stating that "its content has been discovered as having previously been published on another site, i.e. duplicate content."

The article contained "Allah's names", they will remain the same, the meanings of those names will remain the same. The Quranic passages and Hadiths are unchangeable. I provided a lot of extensive explanations for each name, but HP did not think them sufficient, thus I have no other choice but to delete that hub.

I believe they have automated methods that detect whether or not the content is duplicate. Because if it had passed through human eyes, they would have realized the difference between my article and the ones that are already published on web.

If the article has previously been featured, on what basis was it featured? They questioned the links, so I erased them, and it was republished. How did they republish it if it was a duplicate content? And now when the article is very different than the ones that are already published on web what makes them think that it is duplicate content. I have no choice but to delete it. The attached screenshot shows the hub scores, and they are unable to score it before it gets featured. This is the first time it happened and this is really frustrating!

    Thanks a lot!

Did you email the editors about this?  You are correct that the algorithm that looks for duplicate content is automated.  You could have requested a human being look at it.  In your email, you could have pointed out your unique content.

I write about gardening, so my content is very similar to other gardening articles on the web.  I put my own spin on it as I'm sure you put your own spin on the names.  If my articles can pass muster with humans, yours probably could have also.

HubPages has automated a lot of functions because of the thousands of articles that are published each day.  Humans couldn't possibly keep up.  It's up to us authors to point out where the machines have made mistakes.

Never hesitate to email the staff.  They are very responsive.

Hello Caren, Thank you so much for your detailed response. No, I did not send them an email. If that's the case, I think I should. smile
        Blessings to you!

I know how frustrating this can be, Misbah. I had one article about the quotes of Mark Twain marked as duplicate because most of the quotes are found elsewhere, but I also had a good proportion of unique information. In the end I had to delete most of the quotes to finally get it accepted. Now I can never update it because every time I do it is automatically flagged as duplicate content again.
I feel for you, because you were going to write further articles with Allah’s other names. Now you wont be able to do that.

Yes, John, I planned to continue it in parts. I previously had a problem with one of my articles,  the one about Shams Tabrizi. That article is now featured. However, when they flagged that one, it was not featured, but this time they featured it first and then created issues. That's what's weird. I believe they have some sort of automated system.

Thank you so much for your very kind response.
      Many Blessings to you smile

      Hello, John!

I sent an email to the team as OldRoses suggested, and I received a positive response from them. The article is featured again. However, if their system is automated, I may not proceed with the parts because If I will do, it will be 20 parts in total and repeated duplication warnings can be harmful for my HP profile, I believe.

      Blessings always!!! smile
