In the past for my articles I've used regular hyperlinks to sources for information referenced. But because these can change or disappear, creating broken links (typically with no other reference citation), just to cite sources of information I've started using endnotes instead, with the links in the endnotes. That way, if the link breaks I can change it in the endnote or just eliminate it, leaving the text citation for the reference.
You can see this in practice in my latest article:
https://discover.hubpages.com/entertain … ation-Tips
As you can also see, I've used in-text links where that's more appropriate, but for just data sources I've relied on endnotes.
My question: What's the attitude of HubPages toward endnotes like this? Will this affect how they evaluate my article?
Also, any other feedback or criticism of the article is welcome.
Thanks — Lyndon
I have no idea what attitude Hubpages might have. However, I thoroughly enjoyed your article. Informative, clear, and well-written.
Thanks! Positive feedback always helps!

Hi there,
I believe the list of references should be hyperlinks in APA Style. Please see the following link for more information:
https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar- … references
Click "Edit" at the top of the text capsule. Highlight a relevant word or words in the reference list. Go to the toolbar and click the tool that looks like a chain.
Fill in the URL in the box that appears. Now click "Save".
I hope it helps
Best wishes!!
The disadvantage of using links instead of a reference capsule is that the readers might choose to abandon your article before finishing it.(Your ads do not load so HP loses out. The reader may or may not come back.) I always include a reference capsule at the end of my health articles so that the reader can learn more about a subject should he or she choose to do so.
Here is an example: https://pethelpful.com/cats/vomiting-cat-no-vet showing how I add the reference capsule at the end, similar to what you have done in your latest article.
HP is fine with that style. I have over 300 articles on a network site (Pethelpful).
DrMark points out "The disadvantage of using links instead of a reference capsule is that the readers might choose to abandon your article before finishing it.(Your ads do not load so HP loses out. Makes sense. Nicely done in the article you've used as a sample. Certainly a good model for me to consider in future articles.
Thanks — Lyndon
I do it as Dr. Mark describes without a problem. It works better this way.

I am almost ready to publish a new article, and I want to add two Amazon Capsules. I know how to do it the old way. But I saw on lobobrandon and a few other's hubs a different way. There is just an orange "A" and what looks like a hyperlink, and when clicked, it takes the reader right to...

I have been updating my hubs, but almost all of the amazon capsules have been snipped (even if there is only one on the hub and it is directly relating to the article). I see that HP is limiting them, but is there a definitive rule that is being used to snip out the products capsules? I...
