I haven't seen this type of result for any other article. I'm wondering what's unique about it that they do this. The search term was "triangle sides".

The article is quite image-heavy, so I would have to assume that's why it's appearing like this. It's almost like Google is reading the page as a gallery of images rather than a standard article.

That's what I was thinking, but most of my other guides are image heavy too. I'm just wondering has it something to do with how close the images are together in the article, with less text interleaved than in other guides.

After thinking about it, I suspect it probably has more to do with how your captions relate to one another and the article's subject.

Google crawlers can't read what an image contains, but they can form connections and make assessments based on things like alt-text, captions and dimensions. As such, SEO experts put a lot of weight into using relevant keywords when it comes to image-meta data, which is what you, perhaps unintentionally, have done here.

That's not to say that your captions in other articles aren't relevant or helpful, but if you input them into an AI, the AI might not be able to comprehend what it's "looking" at entirely.

In this article, though, the frequent mention of triangles, angles and other related keywords (Pythagoras's Theorem, for instance) within the captions make it quite apparent, so that even a blind robot could comprehend the contents that they're describing.

I could ramble on because I'm fascinated by this kind of thing. But, basically, I think you've done a really good job with image-based SEO here, to the point where Google deems it worthwhile showing the pics to users on SERPs.

I might try improving the captions of images on other guides to make them more relevant to the image and see whether it has a positive result.
